Programme Review

My morning routine sets me up physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually for a good day. And while I love the comfort and familiarity of my current routine, I’m always on the lookout for novel tweaks or additions to keep it fresh and stimulating.

I was invited to host for Re:well Rebels’ complimentary Mini Quick Boost programme - a morning routine designed with key themes such as Movement, Mind, Mastery and Make, led by 4 wellness experts. It doesn’t drastically change your mornings but instead enable one to ease into a healthy start. Think of it more as a convenient set of handy tips for changing up a daily routine.

  • Movement

    • Lorne’s undemanding lower body awakening is a wonderfully mellow prelude to my morning Gyrotonic routine and also useful as a pre-warm up for my more intensive cardio workouts later in the day.

  • Mind

    • Davina is such a cheerful, calming presence and it is a pleasure practicing alternate nostril breathing with her. This quick and simple technique can be used any time you need to pause and re-centre amid the chaos of your day and is especially useful to have in your back pocket in these uncertain times.

  • Mastery

    • Stephanie Leung Coleman’s overview about how helpful our food choices can be in managing stress, which in turn impacts our immune system, is apt and timely.

  • Make

    • This leads naturally into FoodieFitMum Steffles’ recipe for a delicious miso mixed vegetable soup, suggested here for breakfast, but really a delightful, nutritious and comforting meal option for any time of day.

Next up on my list, an immersion in one of the Silent Retreats for clarity and balance.
