Meditation Session:

Calmness in Chaos

Subba’s work is founded on the core belief that future of humanity and the world lies in empowering each person to live their best lives.

Subba’s basic training is in engineering and business studies. For three decades he straddled the life of a banker while developing a deep personal practice of yoga and meditation. Subba has trained in the chanting of Vedas and Upanishads from when he was a child and continues to work with scholars in India on the Yoga Sutras.

His fifteen years of annual practice of silence & solitude and studies of the Yoga Sutras are the main sources for the “Being” programs that he runs today. His programs seamlessly connect the ancient work of sutras with contemporary sciences of the mind, applying them to our daily life. Together with his wife Renuka, Subba runs BeingSattvaa, a utopian retreat centre in Bali for both retreat leaders and seekers.

Movement

Hasiko + Silent Disco + Amanda Ling

Movement:

HASIKO Silent Disco

The HASIKO FLOW is a 60 minutes movement class that borrows from yoga, pilates and other movement methods. The class is divided into three 20 minute segments – the first, a high-intensity but low-impact strength sequence to release pent up energy, while the second focuses on lengthening muscles and releasing tension. HASIKO FLOW ends with a guided meditation to draw both the mind and body into relaxation. This retreat offers an additional silent disco component where the flow is done with headphones on – so you are treated to the binaural beats of DJ Doopz performing live, as you work on your inner body.

*Sign up for HASIKO FLOW and receive a complimentary 15 minutes a day, 7-day stress remedy programme which will provide you with tools and tips to manage stress levels.

Wai-Ching Lee

Healing is in Sifu Ama’ Lia Wai-Ching Lee’s blood. She descended from a lineage of healers, and even at a young age, when introduced to qigong and tai chi, saw the opportunity to integrate moves from dance and yoga to enhance the experience.

Over the years, her passion and keen sense of exploration led to the development of practices like the Infinity Quantum Qi Gong – for the transmission of healing energy, and TranscenDance – which integrates basic principles of qigong with meditation, movement and dance – just to name a few.

Now past 60 years old, Wai-Ching has a myriad of integrative health qualifications and over two decades of healing experience under her belt. She has also expanded into using food as medicine, and is interested in tailoring meals to fit the biochemistry of each unique individual. Her passion and talents have been recognised across the globe, seen in partnerships and her presence at various culinary and artistic events in cities like San Francisco, Singapore and Bali.

Crystals and your

well being (Fiona Koh,

Crazy World Inner Calm)

1 hour session

Fiona Koh

Fiona started her career in the Banking sector. The daily demands and stresses of life were slowly building up and eventually, her health and emotional state was at an all time low. Stress caused her to suffer from migraine, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and the slightest thing would cause her to become agitated, moody and anxious. At her lowest point, she started to question the quality and direction of her life.

Instead of turning to anti-depressants, she turned to Reiki and yoga to learn how to manage her stress and improve her health. These alternative modalities have really helped her. She no longer suffers from migraine, IBS or anxiety and she has found greater focus, calm and joy.

10 years on, Fiona has pursued a Master of Social Science (Counselling), become a Reiki Master Teacher, a Kundalini Yoga teacher and conducted executive coaching sessions for professionals. In the recent years, she decided to focus on conducting Reiki, Crystal and Yoga workshops as these are the passionate areas in her life. Fiona’s workshops aim to empower people to find their balance and natural healing from within. She is very fortunate to have the support of her loving spouse and 2 beautiful teenage daughters, and all of them practice Reiki and yoga too.

(Dr Erwin Kay, Healthwerkz)

Talk/Workshop #6:

Functional medicine, Gut Health (Dr Erwin Kay)

As part of our digestive system and enteric nervous system, the gut is intricately linked with our central nervous system and can impact how we think and feel. It is home to a world of microbes responsible for functions like the digestion of food and absorption of nutrients, and the place where the bulk of the body’s serotonin, a neurotransmitter connected to mood, is produced. With growing evidence showing that gut microbes influence central neurochemistry and behaviour, learn how maintaining gut health can lead to a happier, healthier life.

Movement:

Yin Yoga + Singing Bowl

(Amanda Ling + Desiree Duclos)

Movement:

Yin Yoga & Singing Bowl Experience

The Yin Yoga and Singing Bowl experience is about synergy with breath and surrender to body. Enjoy release in the deeper connective tissues, fascia and joints as you rest in yin postures for between two to five minutes, complete with the harmonious chiming of singing bowls filling the space. The session will wrap up with a sound bath, and you will enter savasana with vibrations from the singing bowl soothing your body into a deep sense of stillness and relaxation.

About Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slower practice based on the yin yang philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine. Complementing its faster-paced Yang counterpart, Yin Yoga is a slow practice where postures are held between two to five minutes to allow time for release of the deeper connective tissues, fascia and joints. The practice often begins at the roots with a heavy focus on the lower body to increase blood and energy – whether prana or qi – circulation within the body.
